Michael A. Taylor

Michael A. “Mike” Taylor, 68, of Topeka, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026. Born on April 4, 1957, in Leavenworth, Kansas, he was the son of Charles T. and Rosetta I. (Newton) Taylor. Mike graduated from Topeka High School and was an active member of Jackson Memorial in Topeka, where he served as a drummer in the music group. He found great joy in listening to jazz and cherishing time spent with family and friends.

Mike is survived by his children, Shawnte’ Taylor, LaTanya Taylor, Dame Taylor, Dane Taylor, Laresa McGee, and Donna Sanchez; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Carl Taylor, Eric Taylor, and Jackie Taylor, along with a wide circle of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Sacou McGee, and his siblings Shelly Taylor and Derrick Taylor.
