Merryaddis Elizabeth Widgeon

Merryaddis Elizabeth Widgeon, 72, of Jonesboro, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at St. Bernards Medical Center. She was born on November 23, 1953 in Carpentersville, Illinois to John and Mary Ortman.

Merry enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and visiting with her friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Widgeon, and several brothers and sisters.

Merry is survived by her daughter, Theresa (Courtney) Tatum of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Bailey (Stefhanie) Tatum of Bay, Braxten (Alexis) Tatum of Brookland, and Bella Tatum of Jonesboro; great-grandchildren, Naomi Tatum and Asher Tatum; son, Doug Francis of Illinois; her sisters, brothers, numerous nieces and nephews; and her many close friends from Total Life Healthcare.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Total Life Healthcare for the compassion and kindness they showed Merry during her time with them.
