Merle Christner of Shipshewana, Indiana, passed away on March 16, 2026 at the age of 94. He touched countless lives with his warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his parents, Levi Christner and Susanna Christner (Schrock), and by his siblings, Juanita Mast, Kenneth Christner, Mervin Christner, Freeman Christner, and Freida Miller.
Merle is survived by his wife, Edna Hochstetler; his children, Eldon Christner (Ody) of Shipshewana, Larry Christner of Richmond, Virginia, Michael Christner of Shipshewana, and Sharon Moore of Elkhart; and his siblings, Anna Mosley of Topeka and Mills Campground (Edna). He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
