Melvin Vargas

Melvin Vargas, affectionately known as Melly Mel, was born on January 20, 1967, in Passaic, New Jersey, and passed away on March 6, 2026, at the age of 59. Raised in Passaic, he remained deeply connected to his hometown throughout his life. Melvin was a man of warmth and humor, known for his quick wit, kind heart, and genuine love for his family and friends. A devoted Yankees fan, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including late-night conversations and the sound of shared laughter.

Those who knew Melvin will remember him as a loving father, son, and brother who cherished the people around him. He brought light and laughter wherever he went, leaving a lasting impression as the family jokester whose presence could brighten any room. Melvin is survived by his children, Melvin Vargas Jr., Janelle Vargas, and Elizabeth Lopes; his mother, Maria Vargas; and his sister, Marisol Diodonet. He will be remembered with love and celebrated for the joy he brought to everyone fortunate enough to know him.
