He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernie McFarling and Mildred Schmitter. He is survived by: his pets, Rosey and Skillet; his extended family Mel; his wife Carol; his children, Amy and Steven; his sibling's children, Kathie McFarling Gomez and Danny McFarling; and his great-nieces, Lindsay Leblanc and Hannah Smith.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Jaynes Memorial Chapel (811 S Cockrell Hill Rd, Duncanville, TX 75137). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
