Melissa Hugo ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Ambrose Funeral Home - Bay City on Mar. 17, 2026.Melissa "Missy" HugoMelissa "Missy" Marie Hugo, lovingly known by many as "The Princess," went home to be with the Lord on March 15, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.Missy was born in Bay City, Michigan, to the late Charles and Mildred (Corrion). As the youngest of fifteen children, she was treasured from the very beginning and quickly earned the affectionate nickname "The Princess," a title that stayed with her throughout her life. Missy and her family were longtime members of St. John Catholic Church, now St. Jude Thaddeus Parish.Missy had a joyful spirit and a deep love for music and dancing. One song in particular stayed close to her heart throughout her life, "You Are My Sunshine." It became a favorite that always brought a smile to her face and to those around her. Missy found comfort in the people she loved and enjoyed spending time with family and friends, while also appreciating the quiet and familiarity of home. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for her playful spirit, often enjoying a good prank that would leave everyone laughing.Missy especially loved her M&Ms, good food, and family gatherings. While living at Autumn Ridge Gardens, her family saw her grow in confidence and independence, and the staff there quickly became like family to her. Missy had a special way of touching the lives of everyone she met. Her bright personality, laughter, and loving heart could light up any room she entered. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the joy of knowing her.She is survived by siblings: Lester (Noraine) Hugo, Gary Hugo (Sue), Alan (Elizabeth) Hugo, Carolyn (Michael) Derocher, Paul (Karen) Hugo, Theresa (John) Sauve, Annette (Duane) McTaggart, Brenda (Barry) Kenniston, Bryan (Michele) Hugo; brother-in-laws: Howard Ritter and Steven Revard and one sister-in-law Cheri Hugo, many beloved nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews. She was also survived by dear friends: Chrislee Jacobs, Jill Edelbrock, Sally Chard and Courtney Sygon and many others. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings: Francis (Alice) Hugo, Diane Ritter, Roger Hugo, Charlene Revard, Mark Hugo, and nephews: Thomas Faustin, David Faustin, Chad Revard, Nathan Hugo.A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Missy Friday, March 20, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. Jude Thaddeus. Fr. TJ Flemming will celebrate. Family and friends may gather for visitation Thursday, March 19, at Ambrose Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A Burial will take place at St. Patrick Cemetery.
