Melissa Dawn Tinsley

Melissa Dawn Jones Tinsley, 55, of Lexington, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Garland Jones and Virginia Ann Stoots Jones, her niece Amanda Jones, and her beloved fur babies Rocko, Shooter, Miranda, and Aubrey.

Melissa is survived by her husband of 26 years, James R. Tinsley, Jr.; her sons, James Stoots (Jeannie) and Tony Tinsley; her daughter, Ashley Stoots (JR Smith); her grandchildren, Duane Smith, Dakota Smith, Landon Stoots, Savannah Stoots, and Skyler Stoots; her brother, Jimmy Jones; her sisters, Nancy Barlow, Dora Ellison, and Patty Jones; her cherished fur babies, Louie, JP, and Pinto; and many nieces and nephews.

She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister whose love for her family and animals remained steadfast throughout her life.
