Mekhi was born on November 4, 2013, at South Nassau Hospital in Oceanside, New York, to Chiffon Kelly, and his loving father, the late Kenneth Roberts.From the moment Mekhi came into this world, he filled my life with a love that words could never fully explain. He was truly his parents "sweet boy," and the joy of everyone's life. To his father and mother, he was not only a son but also their best friend. Mekhi had a special way of touching everyone he met. His bright smile, warm spirit, and loving personality made it easy for people to love him.Mekhi was a very smart and curious young man who attended Baldwin Middle School in Baldwin, New York. He loved spending time with his parents and family, and like most kids his age, he enjoyed playing on any electronics he could get his hands on. Those simple moments of laughter, conversation, and togetherness are memories that will forever live in everyone's heart.Although Mekhi's time here with us was far too short, he brought so much love, happiness, and light into our lives. Every moment with him was a blessing that we will cherish forever.Mekhi was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Roberts.He leaves to cherish his precious memories; his loving mother, Chiffon Kelly; his sister, Aleyah Roberts; his grandparents Michael and Linda Kelly; his uncles, Christopher Tolbert, Leroy Stewart, Shawn Stewart, and Raymond Shears; his aunts, Katrina Roberts, Krystle Roberts, and Anastasia Shears; and a host of cousins, and friends who loved him deeply and will forever carry his memory in their hearts.Although our hearts will always carry the pain of losing Mekhi, we thank God for the beautiful time he allowed him to be in our lives.
