Megan Garcia ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by McGeehan Funeral Homes Martin Chapel in Chesaning on Mar. 8, 2026.It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of our beloved daughter, sister, mother, and aunt, Megan Leigh (Greenfelder) Garcia (37), who passed away unexpectedly from health complications in the early hours of March 6, 2026.Megan was born on June 2, 1988, in Owosso, Michigan, to Susan Greenfelder. She attended Chesaning schools and later became a Certified Nursing Assistant. After high school she moved to Minnesota before returning later to the community where she was born and raised.Megan had the purest smile that warmed the hearts of those around her. She loved deeply and cared selflessly for friends and anyone in need. She found immense joy in caring for friends and neighbors, and she found her calling as a caregiver in both assisted living homes and private home health care.Megan is survived by three beautiful children, Nakia Garcia, Rory Garcia, and Monix Garcia; the father of her children, Michael Garcia; her mother, Susan Greenfelder, and partner, Tom Ackles; her brothers and sisters, Isaac (Katrease) Greenfelder, Hallie (Kyle) Byron, Hayden (Lisa) Greenfelder, Aubrie Greenfelder; nieces and nephews Ammalynn, Kennedy, Cannon, Jackson, Emma, Grant, Tallie, David, Haileigh, Lachlan, Emmarie, Quorra, Stryker; stepbrother Daniel (Erin) Ackles and their children Finn, Fiona, and Jameson. Megan was preceded in death by her oldest sister Denique Greenfelder, grandparents Richard and LuAnn Greenfelder, aunt Kristin Greenfelder, and niece Layla.Megan was known as a force of nature. On any given day she could be found walking barefoot in her backyard with a herd of dogs trotting close behind. The love Megan gave wasn't just that of kind words or small gestures; she openly shared her heart with each person in her path. Whether it was a place to stay or a warm meal for someone and their family she offered anything she had to those in need. The void that has been left by Megan's passing will remain forever in those who loved and were loved by her.Visitation will be held from noon until 4 pm Tuesday, March 10, 2026. Funeral services will be at 4 pm, at the McGeehan Funeral Home, Martin Chapel located at 316 W. Broad St., Chesaning, MI 48616.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
