Megan Demers, 50, of Whitinsville, died on March 10, 2026, at UMASS Medical Center following a sudden illness.
Born in Worcester on November 24, 1975, Megan was the daughter of the late Ernest and Margaret (Rossetti) Demers. A lifelong resident of Whitinsville, she graduated from Blackstone Valley Tech in 1994, where she discovered her deep passion for culinary arts. She worked in the kitchens of many local restaurants and as a bartender before becoming a regional chef with the Hawthorne Retirement Group in assisted living. Megan was a gifted cook and a patient, inspiring teacher to everyone she mentored throughout her career.
Beyond her work, Megan cherished time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews, who brought her great joy. She also held a special fondness for animals of all kinds.
She is survived by her sisters, Heidi Fernandez and her husband Albert of Germany, and her twin sister Mia Crawford of Whitinsville; her brother-in-law Michael Crawford; two beloved nieces, eight nephews, and many great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Jamie and Thomas Demers. Megan will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the many coworkers whose lives she touched.
