A native of Hertford County, NC she was born on February 13, 1952 to the late John Downing, Sr. and Hattie Lewis Downing.She retired as a care manager for Elwynn Institute.Maxine leaves to cherish fond memories: her husband, Curtis Robinson, Sr. of the home; two daughters, Angelina Shorts (Ron) of Bear, DE and Nikkia Thompson of Phil., PA; one son, Curtis Robinson, Jr. (Luisny) of Clearwater, FL; three sisters, Jeroline Gaskins (Tyrian), Mona Collins, and Fredda Downing all of Harrellsville, NC; one brother, Timmy Downing, Sr. of Rocky Mount, NC; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren; one aunt, Elsie Sykes (Sam) of Gates, NC; one uncle, David Lewis Sr. (Estelle) of Emporia, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
