Maximilian Ringseisen, 44, of Newport, Rhode Island, passed away on March 9, 2026, in Middletown, Rhode Island.
Born on November 11, 1981, in Madison, Ohio, to Jean-Charles Maximilian Ringseisen and Margaret “Maggie” Hayes, Max grew up in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. He attended Old Orchard Beach High School and later Rogers High School in Newport, where at age 16 he earned a perfect score of 1600 on his SATs. Known for his keen intellect and remarkable photographic memory, he was never drawn to formal education.
Max worked as a server and bartender at several beloved establishments in Newport, including the Clarke Cooke House, and as a glass blower at Thames Street Glass. He found joy in golfing and riding his motorcycle, and he cherished the wide circle of friends who were an important part of his life.
He is survived by his sister, LivAline Leddy Ringseisen of North Kingstown, Rhode Island, and his father, Jean-Charles Maximilian Ringseisen of Southwest Harbor, Maine, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Hayes, his stepfather, Edwin Booth, and his stepmother, Diane Ringseisen.
