Barrington, IL

Maximilian C. Sahinoglu passed away unexpectedly in a car accident on Monday, March 9, 2026.

Max was born on December 20, 2008, in Chicago to Yigit Sahinoglu and Jennifer Ceran Sahinoglu, joining his proud older brother, Alex. Raised in Barrington, Illinois, he grew up surrounded by sports, friends, and a determination to make every day more fun. He formed lifelong friendships at Grove Avenue Elementary and Prairie Middle School, always looking forward to returning home to Barrington to be with them, connections that remained central to his life.

He attended Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, New Hampshire, following his brother Alex. Max had a presence that filled any room with laughter and energy the moment he entered. At Exeter, he embraced campus life fully, forging close friendships that extended far beyond the classroom and soccer field. A proud Student Leader at Cilley Hall, he was a passionate varsity soccer player who wore the #9 jersey with pride. In his final season, he was a dynamic force on the field, scoring numerous goals and assists while playing with confidence, intensity, and heart that endeared him to his teammates.

Off the field, Max was known for his infectious humor, loud music, big smile, and unmistakable head of hair. He loved playing soccer with his brother, gaming with friends, doing flips on the ski slopes, and sharing goofy adventures with his cousins. Above all, those who knew him will remember his generous heart. Loving, understanding, and fiercely loyal, Max was a steadfast friend who showed up for others, listened deeply, lifted spirits, and made everyone around him feel included and valued.

Max will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Yigit and Jennifer, and his brother Alex; his grandparents Mehmet and Gulnihal Sahinoglu and Gulcin Konan; his uncles and aunts Mert and Natalie Sahinoglu, Efe and Marci Sahinoglu, and Michael and Ahu Primeaux; his cousins Karl and Connor Sieg and Jacob, Stella, and Aria Sahinoglu; and the many friends, teammates, and classmates whose lives he touched, especially his FBG4L crew. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ayla Cildiroglu and Atakan Konan.
