Max Emil Tyler

Max Emil Tyler

September 26, 2003 March 8, 2026

Greece, NY

Max Emil Tyler, named after two great uncles of his mother, was born on September 26, 2003, in Rochester, New York, to Stephen and Colleen Meinhold Tyler. He is survived by his parents, brothers Chase and Elijah, sister-in-law Christina of Greece, grandmother Barbara Meinhold of Amherst, uncle Richard (Lori) Meinhold of Orchard Park, aunt Mary (Art) Converse of St. Augustine, Florida, and many cousins.

A 2021 graduate of Greece Arcadia High School, Max participated in chess, Masterminds, cross country, indoor track, golf, and tennis. Energetic, curious, and impetuous, he marched to the beat of his own drum. A giving soul and a hard worker, he enjoyed working alongside his father fixing cars. An avid gamer, he took part in several gaming groups in Greece, playing Dungeons and Dragons and Magic: The Gathering, and connected online with friends from around the world. He cherished trivia nights with Chase at Russell Station and playing Dominion with his brothers and sister-in-law. A loyal fan of the Amerks and the Red Wings, he attended games with his family whenever possible. Max swam for many years with the Northwest YMCA Stingrays before becoming a BSA Lifeguard and working summers at Camp Cutler. His love for water led him to sail on Irondequoit Bay with Sea Scout Ship 303. At age 20, he traveled alone to northern Europe. He worked full-time at Alro Steel and part-time at AMF Dewey Gardens before becoming assistant manager at Bowlero/AMF Dewey Gardens Lanes, often filling in at Fairview Lanes and Bowlero Rochester on Empire Boulevard.

Max will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and coworkers, leaving a profound void in the lives of all who knew him.
