Max E. Wean, 84 years, peacefully passed away in his sleep on the morning of Saturday, March 14th, 2026. Max was born in Daleville, Indiana on May 13th, 1941, to Wid & Irene. Max was one of four siblings. After graduating from high school, Max then served four years in the Air Force. Max married Barbara on December 27th, 1961. They returned to Indiana where Max then worked as a mail carrier until retiring. Max was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, & granddaughter, Anna.Max is survived by his wife, Barbara; two daughters, Lori (Steve Rice) Wean & Theresa (Jim) Kuntz; six grandchildren, Abby, Matlin (Caleb), Katie (Drake), Brantley, Keaton, and Keyanna; five great-grandchildren, Abraham, Joel, Griffin, Phoebe, and Gideon; and many extended family members.Besides being a very loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Max spent his life doing the things he loved, like gardening, watching sports, and frequent trips to Menards. Max also volunteered for the VA, the local Military Honor Guard, and at the Hancock County Food Pantry.Visitation will be 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm, Thursday, March 19th at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Pasco Chapel, 1780 W. Main Street, Greenfield, Indiana 46140. A funeral Mass will be 10:00 am Friday, March 20th, 2026, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 519 Jefferson Blvd, Greenfield, IN, with visitation there 1 hour prior to service.Memorial contributions may be sent to; Greenfield Veteran Honor Guard, 230 Stoney Trail, Greenfield, IN 46140 or the Hancock County Food Pantry, 2040 W.
