Dillie, 87, of Dayton, OH, formerly of Dunkirk, IN, joined his Lord and Savior in Glory on Saturday, March 7th, 2026, peacefully while in the company of family members at Brookhaven Nursing Home in Brookville, OH. Max was born in Parker City, IN, on February 22, 1939, a son of the late Bessie Irene (Cortner) and Valmond Dillie. He was a 1957 graduate of Parker City High School, was employed as a maintenance foreman for 3M in Hartford City, IN, for 20 years and was a dedicated local farmer for over 50 years. Max was the loving husband of Marianna F. (Snider) Dillie who he happily married on September 26, 1958. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Dunkirk, IN, for over 50 years and over his many years of service and dedication to farming and school sports, he has been honored with several noteworthy awards: Jay County, IN, Conservationist of the Year; 10 years of set aside acreage for wildlife (10 acres), planting of controlled native vegetation; All County Basketball Parker City H.S.; and Sportsmanship Award for Parker City H.S. basketball. Max is survived by a daughter, Dianna Lin (Dillie) Youngpeter, two sons, Daniel Lee Dillie, Benjamin Francis Dillie, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Kathryn Dillie, Mary Evelyn Morgan, and 5 brothers, George, Jim, Robert, Vern and Howard Dillie. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13, 2026, from 11 AM to 12 PM at MJS Mortuaries - Farmland Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 12 PM with Pastor Scott McClain and Pastor Rusty Clements officiating. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery in Farmland, IN. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Handi Van (42 W. Westbrook Rd, Brookville, OH. 45309).
