Maurice J. Edwards

Maurice J. Edwards, age 77, of Flushing, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026. Born on January 27, 1949, in Lansing, Michigan, to the late James and Betty Lou (Damrell) Edwards, Maurice graduated from J.W. Sexton High School in Lansing. He was drafted into the United States Marine Corps and served in the Vietnam War, where he contracted malaria and was sent home. Once healed, he enlisted in the United States Army and proudly continued serving his country.

Maurice will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan, with Military Honors.

He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Edwards; three grandchildren, Raevyn, Lillian, and Lucas; his brother, Steven Edwards; nephew, Christopher Edwards; and niece, Alisa Clifton, along with many other family members. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Darlene K. Edwards.
