Maurice Flickinger, 94, of Vinton, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 12, 2026. Born on March 13, 1931, in Garrison to Gerald and Harriet (Wilson) Flickinger, Maury graduated from Garrison High School with the class of 1948. He married Joyce Bauserman on May 24, 1952, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. A lifetime farmer and longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton, Maury found his deepest fulfillment in the roles he cherished most: devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His greatest joy was simply spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Joyce, daughters Debra (Mark Kromminga) of Belle Plaine and Dee (Bob Morin) of St. Louis, grandchildren Kassie (Blake Mather) of Keystone, Kaitlin Kromminga of Des Moines, Tyler (Justin) Seabaugh of Kansas City, and Luke Morin of St. Louis, and great-grandsons Jacob and Jackson Mather of Keystone. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law Carol Flickinger and brother-in-law Ron Bauserman (Carolyn).
Maury was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Delbert and Dick Flickinger, and sister Geraldine Hill. Private family services will be held at a later date.
