He was 48 years old. A homegoing service is planned for Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory. Friends and family may pay their respects at a visitation on Friday, March 20, 2026 between the hours of 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Barnes will be laid to rest immediately following the service at Parkway Memorial Gardens.He was born on December 30, 1977 in Warner Robins, Georgia to the parentage of Mrs. Lillie Bell Barnes and the late Mr. Roger Lee Barnes. A VERY PROUD graduate of Warner Robins High School; he participated in various sports but favored football. Those who knew Maurice knew he was charismatic, fun-loving, kind hearted and worked hard to provide as a route salesman for Southeast Snacks. He was a jokester, never meeting a stranger- all while being a humble man. He found the love of his life (apple of his eye) and high school sweetheart, Lekeshia Anderson. The friendship blossomed into a lasting bond; later married and were blessed with three children. Maurice and his family chose to attend, serve and nourish their spiritual souls as members of Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church.Maurice leaves his precious, HIS heartbeats to cherish life-touching memories; his loving wife, Lekeshia Barnes; mother, Lillie Bell Barnes; three children: Jaylan (Ant'Tonye) Barnes, Tajae (Takayla) Barnes, and "DaDaBuk" Jatijah Barnes; four grandchildren that loved PAPA- Jo'Siah Barnes, Hayven Barnes, Daesyn Barnes, and Kaiden Barnes; two siblings: Stakia (Kami) Barnes, and Jeania (Frank) Graham. Extended family: mother-in-law, Sharon Campbell (the late Quincy V. Campbell), brother-in-law, Darren Campbell, Antoinne Campbell and Quincy (Lashonda) Campbell; and sister-in-law, Tambria (Dallas) Campbell.
