Maude Parr ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Lohman Funeral Home Deland on Mar. 2, 2026.Maude E. Parr, age 88Born in North Carolina, Maude was a woman of strength, resilience, and deep faith. She worked as a factory employee at a medical manufacturing facility in Deland before later helping her beloved husband sell boiled peanuts and fresh produce along Highway 42 in Deland-a venture that became a cherished part of their life together and a familiar stop for many in the community.Maude was a true overcomer. Throughout her life she faced and conquered many battles, including multiple fights with cancer, always meeting each challenge with determination and quiet grace. She found joy in simple, meaningful things. She loved quilting, gardening, painting, coloring, canning, and collecting antiques and figurines. Her hands were rarely still-whether stitching a quilt, tending to flowers and plants, preserving vegetables and other canned gooda, or fixing and making things that were useful and built to last-she created beauty, function, and comfort wherever she was. She especially treasured teaching her great-grandchildren important life lessons and practical skills, passing down knowledge, trades, and wisdom that will live on for generations.Maude dearly loved her sweet dog, midget, who brought her much companionship and comfort. Above all, she was devoted to her family. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, affectionately known as "Peanut Pop", and rests in the presence of her lord and savior. She is survived by her son, Frank Gordon Parr of Orange City; daughters, Bobbie Gene Zuniga of Pierson and Sue Ann Ward of Pierson; eight grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her strength, faith and enduring love.Memorial donations may be made to Advent Health Hospice, Attn: John Subers, 60 Memorial Medical Parkway, Palm Coast, FL 32164.Lohman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements with a gathering at 10:00am, Wednesday March 4, 2026, at Lohman Funeral Home Deland Chapel, followed by a graveside service at 11:00am at Deland Memorial Gardens, 600 East Beresford Avenue, Deland, FL 32724Any additional information you may call the Lohman Funeral Home, Deland, Florida 386-736-0021To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
