Matthew Xavier Galvan

Matthew Xavier Galvan was born on February 1, 2005, in San Antonio, Texas. On March 9, 2026, at the age of 21, he passed away.

Matthew graduated from G.W. Brackenridge High School and went on to work as an apprentice with the fire sprinkler union AFPG. From a young age he showed a deep love for basketball, playing at Poe Middle School and earning a place on the school banner for his accomplishments. Known to those close to him as a dream chaser, he pursued every goal with unwavering determination, whether large or small, until it became reality.

What many will remember most was the warmth of his presence. His radiant smile could light up any room, and his contagious laugh had a way of drawing others in until they found themselves laughing alongside him. Matthew inspired those around him through his kindness, positivity, and strength of character, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met.

He is survived by his parents, April Galvan (Floyd Trejo) and Ray Martinez (Sandra Avila); his siblings, Amisty, Adilyn, Nina, Camila, Lil Ray, Reyna, Isaiah, Elliot, and Ares; his niece, Adahlina; his grandparents, Jesse and Susie Galvan and Brenda Escobedo; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
