Rev. Matthew Ryan Bolton, 43, Pastor of Friendship Community Church of Stinking Creek, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026. A devoted husband, father figure, pastor, and public servant, Matthew served as a Sergeant with the Morgan County Jail and as President of Truth in Love Ministries. He found great joy in fishing, hiking, four-wheeling, and embarking on adventures with those he loved.
He was preceded in death by his father, Otha J.C. Bolton; his baby sister, Aleisha Bolton; his father-in-law, Rick Bourff; his grandparents, Earl and Vina Bolton and Floyd and Cora Branam; his special brothers-in-law, Lance Huddleston and Josh Blackwell; his very dear friend, Derrick Matthew Campbell; his nieces, Rebecca Parker and Kristina Bolton; and a host of aunts and uncles.
Matthew is survived by the love of his life and best friend since age 15, his wife Amanda Bourff; his mother, Joyce Bolton of Stinking Creek; his mother-in-law, Teresa Bourff of LaFollette; his brother, Brian Bolton and wife Chesni of Jacksboro; his sisters, Brenda Inman and husband Jamie of LaFollette, Jennifer England and husband Rick of Stinking Creek, and Regina Huddleston of Stinking Creek; his sister-in-law, Christy Blackwell of LaFollette; special aunt and uncles, Mary and Jimmy Sands of Stinking Creek and Roger Smiddy of LaFollette; his nephews, Joshua Huddleston, Karen Huddleston, Joshua Inman, Elijah Inman, Eli Marlow, Bret Huddleston, and Ean England; his special niece and daughter, Victoria England; his nieces, Nichole Rogers, Shyanna and Jarred Cochran, Kimberly and Colton Bolton, Emily Inman, Beth England, Jaelin Bolton, Kaliana Huddleston, Briana and Taylor McCarty, and Ashley and Jonah Jones; and his great-nieces and nephews, Aryana Carr, Ryic Carr, Declan Bolton, Levi Huddleston, Abel Bolton, Mila Bolton, Mason Huddleston, Laina Bolton, Landrie McCarty, Connor Wallace, Koda Jones, Mason Inman, Cable Inman, and Ezlyn Inman. He also leaves behind the members of Friendship Community Church and a host of special family and friends.
