June 28, 1969— March 8, 2026
Robstown, TX
Matthew Paul Havelka passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, surrounded by his wife, children, and immediate family. Born on June 28, 1969, and raised in the Violet Community of Robstown, Texas, Matt developed a deep and enduring love for hunting, fishing, ranching, and farming that remained central to his life.
While attending college, he met the love of his life, Adrienne, at the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show dance. They married on March 4, 1995, and settled on the Havelka family farm, where they raised their two children, Morgan and Collin. Together they instilled in their children a genuine appreciation for the farming and ranching heritage that had shaped their own lives. Matt’s devotion to his family was evident in his active support of his children’s many activities, through which he found numerous ways to serve the community he cherished.
Matt lived a life defined by service and generosity. He managed the Orange Grove Co-op for 20 years while also working in agricultural chemical, fertilizer, and seed sales. Deeply connected to the event that first brought him and Adrienne together, he served two terms on the Nueces County Junior Livestock Show Board of Directors and spent more than 29 years as a ring spotter at the NCJLS auction, where he was honored this year. He was a proud member of the Wildcat Football Cat Crew during Collin’s high school football career and served a term on the Violet Water Supply Board. Known for his quick wit, infectious laugh, and signature grin, Matt touched everyone around him through his willingness to help in any way he could. He faced a four-year battle with stage 4 kidney cancer with remarkable strength and courage, continuing to live life fully and serving as an inspiring example of love and resilience to his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Adrienne; children Morgan (Thomas) Korzekwa and Collin Havelka; granddaughter Harper Raye Korzekwa and soon-to-arrive grandchildren Reese Lynette and Rollins Matthew Korzekwa; his parents, Don and Carolyn Havelka; brothers Keith (Neisha) Havelka, Jason (Casey) Havelka, and Kris (Julie) Havelka; and many nieces and nephews. Matt was preceded in death by his grandparents Mae Helen and Edgar Rothlisberger, Frank Havelka, Loretta and Otto Boerner, Uncle Allen Rothlisberger, Leroy Havelka, and Aunt Helen Liedecke.
