Matthew Leo Morales

Matthew Leo Morales

January 17, 1965 March 5, 2026

Denver, CO

Matthew Leo Morales, known to some as “Cowboy Matthew”, gained his wings on March 5th, 2026 at the age of 61. Born and raised in the beautiful state of Colorado, he had always longed for adventure. Although he started as a mechanic, he found his passion in driving CDL “big rig” trucks. Over the 40+ years in his field, he worked on, drove, and even became a well-respected mentor/teacher. A great deal of his tenure began with Conway Trucking (known then as Conway Western Express). In his later years he drove for the United States Postal Service, multiple contracting companies, Legacy Trucking, and most recently, Metro Water Recovery of Denver.

He was a kind, good-hearted person who never shied away from helping others. As a man of faith, he would give up to his last dollar or shirt off his back to anyone that may need it. Matthew was well known for his cheery disposition, knack for telling jokes, singing, and his performance of amateur illusions. He also had a love for the outdoors: road trips, fishing, camping, and four-wheeling.

Above all else, Matthew valued The Lord and family the most. He was preceded in death by his father Bonifacio Morales, mother Clorinda Morales (Mondragon), & brother Steven Morales.

He is survived by: his sisters Teresa "Terry" Boyd, Lena Rodriguez, Sharon Bridges and brother James "Jimmy" Morales;  his wife Sherry Morales (separated), girlfriend (fiancé) Deborah Baca, children Matthew and Angela Morales, and stepdaughter Alicia Davalos to include many extended family members and friends.

May he live in peace and find refuge in God’s grace.
