Matthew Favinger

Matthew Favinger, known affectionately as Fave, of Etters, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 6, 2026, at the age of 45. Born on September 2, 1980, in Hershey, Pennsylvania, he was the son of William and Darlene (Wern) Favinger. Matthew attended Red Land High School and took part in many area youth sports programs during his childhood.

An accident in his youth left him with significant brain damage that shaped the rest of his life. Despite this challenge, Matthew worked to live as independently and usefully as he could. Above all, he remained deeply devoted to his family and friends, offering them steady love and loyalty throughout his years.

He is survived by his son, Camdyn, whom he supported with pride as he watched him grow and achieve; his brother, Michael (Ashley), and their daughter, Rowan; his stepbrother, William (Melody); his stepsister, Wendy; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Services will be private. In keeping with Matthew’s wishes, donations may be made to the York County SPCA.
