Matthew Bryant Messer

Matthew Bryant “Matt” Messer, 34, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on March 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on October 12, 1991, in Columbus to Bryant and Tina Messer, Matt was a devoted husband to Kaitlyn Messer and a proud father to his five children, Colton, Carson, Cason, Kennedy, and Creed. His family was the center of his world, and he took great pride in being a husband and dad.

Matt is survived by his wife and children; his parents, Bryant and Tina Messer; his brothers, Mikey and Nathan Messer; and his sister, Shelby (Jerred) Tinnes. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephew, Kyleigh, Lilly, Axle, and Cheyenne; his grandfather Les (Brenda) Mullins; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins who were especially dear to him, including Shane, Dani, Lou, Ashley, Nea, Adam, Brandon, Brett, Cameron, Mark, and Sam. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clyde “Jr.” and Betty Messer and Sharon and Jim Archer; his uncle Jeff; and his aunts Nett and Angie.

Matt found joy in drag racing and working on his Mustang, often alongside his dad, uncle Jamie, or his best friend Patrick. He also loved deer and coyote hunting with his uncle Kevin, fishing, riding four-wheelers, and dirt bikes. Known for his loyalty and readiness to help others—or to stand up and defend those he cared about—Matt will be remembered for his deep love of family and the many memories he created with those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
