Matthew Adam Kersey

Matthew Adam Kersey, age 43, of Kirby, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026, and went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He was born on July 27, 1982, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, the son of Chris Kersey and Denise Adams Howard. Matt shared a special and enduring relationship with his grandparents, Mammaw Mary and Pappaw Billy. He was preceded in death by his mother, his maternal grandmother Betty Radcliff, and his son, Calek Trey Kersey.

A skilled athlete at Kirby High School, Matt played basketball and baseball before graduating in 2000. He married the love of his life, Alisha, on November 11, 2011. Known for his big smile, big heart, and strong work ethic, Matt was also remarkably handy and always willing to help others. Above all, he cherished his family and was a devoted husband, father, brother, son, grandson, uncle, nephew, and friend. Though heaven has gained him, Matt will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Alisha Kersey; his children, Axel Kersey, Alec Moss, and Addyson Moss; his father, Chris Kersey; his siblings, Chase Kersey, Reed Kersey, Josh Howard, and Bradley Howard; his paternal grandparents, Bill and Mary Kersey; his maternal grandparents, Terry and Kay Adams; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends.
