Marylyn B. German, 91, of Dixon, entered the presence of her Lord and Savior on March 12, 2026. She was born on March 4, 1935 in Cissna Park, Illinois, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Scharlach) Brickey. A graduate of Hoopeston High School, Marylyn worked as a registered nurse before her marriage, a profession that proved invaluable as she cared for her five children.

On December 28, 1957, she married James “Jim” German in Hoopeston. Together they created a home filled with music, flowers, shared dinners, games, and travel. Marylyn was a longtime member of Northside Baptist Church in Dixon, where she joyfully played the piano for Sunday services.

She is survived by her husband, James German; three sons, Mark (Susan) German, Timothy (Linda) German, and David German; two daughters, Rebecca Bartlett and Rachel (Mark) Derowitsch; one brother, Jon (Cyndee) Anderson; eight grandchildren, Stephen (Janet) German, Wesley German, Derek (Rachel) German, Kevin German, Melissa German, Amy Derowitsch, Laura Derowitsch, and Jenna Derowitsch; and three great-grandchildren, Caroline German, Gabriel German, and Lucas German. She was preceded in death by her parents.
