MaryJane Schwark

MaryJane Schwark, 80, a longtime resident of Port Ewen, New York, died on March 11, 2026 at Golden Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Kingston, New York on August 10, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Sr. and Dolorita (Uhl) Lucas. Before retiring, MaryJane worked as a bus monitor for the Kingston School District. She found joy in bowling, playing bingo, taking cruises, and visiting casinos, yet nothing mattered more to her than her grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Lester R. Schwark Sr. in 2016, and her brother, Thomas J. Lucas, also in 2016.

MaryJane is survived by her daughters, Susan Van Vliet and her husband Jay of Sleightsburgh, and Terri Helzer of Connelly; her sons, Lester Schwark Jr. and his wife Lori of Port Ewen, and Todd Schwark and his companion Lori of Shokan; four grandsons, Salvatore Dispensa and his wife Andrea of Port Ewen, Jordyn Schwark of Port Ewen, Jarred Schwark of Colorado, and Zachary Helzer and his companion Amanda of Kingston; one sister-in-law, Victoria Schwark of Port Ewen; two brothers, Charles Lucas and Eugene Lucas and his wife Kathy, all of Kingston; and one great-granddaughter, Leila. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
