She attended the public school of Ware County, Georgia, where she received her formal education. She later met and married David E. Williams, and the couple made their home in Gainesville, Florida. From this union, seven children were born; David, Jr. Ronnie, Jerry Priscilla, Melinda, Larry, and Glenn.With humble acceptance of God's will on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, Missionary Mary L. Williams joined the "great cloud of witnesses" (Hebrews 12:1–2). At 91 years old, she peacefully entered eternal rest surrounded by the love of family and sustained by faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.She is a member of Congregational First Born Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Otis Moody where she served faithfully until her declined. Missionary Williams accepted Christ early on in life. While residing in Gainesville, she became a devoted member of the Church of God in Christ under the leadership of her father-in-law, the late Senior Bishop James C. Williams. A faithful and dedicated servant, she helped establish the Prayer Band and the Missionary Ministry, laboring faithfully in the work of the Lord and serving in various capacities within the church. After returning to Waycross, she united with First Born Church No. 2 – Hebardville, where she served in numerous capacities. She served as President of the Senior Choir and President of the Home Mission Ministry, demonstrating her deep commitment to worship and Christian service.She attended and graduated from the First Born Seminary Training School, further strengthening her spiritual foundation and dedication to ministry. She was also a faithful participant in The Spiritual Restoration Ministry under the leadership of the late Frank Jones, where she continued to grow in faith and fellowship.Beyond the church, she remained actively involved in her community. She served on the Bailey Heights Community Committee and was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Gifted in both skill and service, she completed advanced sewing studies and generously shared her talents by teaching sewing classes through several community programs, empowering others with practical skills and creativity. She lived a life rooted in faith, family, and service. She was a woman of remarkable strength, quiet grace, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. Her life reflected the values of compassion, dignity, and perseverance, leaving a lasting imprint on generations who were blessed to know her. A woman of enduring faith, she trusted God in all things and demonstrated daily what it meant to live with kindness and humility.Missionary Williams was preceded in death by her husband, David E. Williams, Sr.; children: Larry D. Williams and Melinda G. Williams; parents, Earvin and Princlar Williams; brothers: John Lee, Issac Lee, Sr., Enoch Lee, Eugene Willams, and Earvin Williams; sisters: Annie Iris Williams, Carrie B. Givings, and Elizabeth Lee; grandchildren: Ronnie R. Adams and Alicia T. Williams.Those left to cherish her memories are her children: David E. Williams, Jr., Ronnie L. Williams, Jerry C. Williams (Sandra), Priscilla A. Brown (James), and Glenn F. Williams; 21 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren. A woman of boundless love and sacrifice, she not only cherished all her grandchildren, she lovingly nurtured and helped raise grandchildren Alicia, Misty, LaShonda, and Lil Ronnie in her home as her own.; sibling: Ms. Alvester Tripp; in- laws: Mrs. Earnestine Williams, Alice Hamlet-Simmons, and Curtis Williams; nieces and nephews, special loved ones, extended family and friends, church family, and community friends.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
