Mary Davidson ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Eline Funeral Home - Hampstead on Mar. 10, 2026.Mary Virginia "Ginny" Davidson, 95, passed away peacefully on the morning of Monday, March 9, 2026 at Golden Crest Assisted Living in Hampstead, MD. Born on March 27, 1930, in Hampstead, Ginny was the daughter of Albert and Lillie (Rill) Harris. She was the beloved wife of Robert "Bob" Davidson, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage prior to his passing in 2007.Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law Gary and Sherl Davidson; granddaughter and spouse Amy (Davidson) and Dan Latta; and great-grandsons Nathan and Noah Latta. For many years, Ginny worked in the cafeteria at Hampstead Elementary School. After her retirement, she volunteered for 31 years at NESAP. She was a member of the Hampstead VFC Ladies Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. Ginny was also a longtime member of St. Mark's United Church of Christ, where she volunteered in many capacities over the years including teaching Vacation Bible School and preparing food for community dinners. In addition to her volunteer activities, Ginny loved cooking and baking, as well as caring for flowers and plants. She was always happiest when spending time with her family. Although she (and her apple pie) will be greatly missed, her family holds to the promise found in God's word that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, and finds peace knowing she is now healed and full of joy in the presence of Jesus. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday, March 16, from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM at Eline Funeral Home, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead, MD 21074, with Rev. Daniel Latta and Rev. Bella Winters officiating. Internment will follow at St. Mark's Cemetery, 1616 Cape Horn Road, Hampstead, MD 21074.Flowers are welcome. For those who wish, donations may be made in Ginny's memory to St. Mark's United Church of Christ, PO Box 514, 1616 Cape Horn Road, Hampstead, MD 21074, or to the BridgingLife Hospice, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.elinefuneralhome.comTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
