Ms. Mary Susan Hardin, known throughout her life by all who knew and loved her as 'Susan,' passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, March 9, 2026.

Susan was born on Wednesday, October 18, 1972, in Dalton, Georgia, to the late Mr. Eugene 'Lamar' Hardin and Mrs. Mary Rogers Strain.

In addition to her father, Susan is preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. James Herbert Rogers and Mrs. Will 'Frances' Rogers, and Mr. Ralph Wayne Hardin and Mrs. Nola Renfro Hardin. She is also preceded in death by her aunt, Mrs. Carol Rogers Snell, as well as Carol's husband, Mr. Fred Wood Snell.

Susan’s spirit and love of life warmed the hearts of many who knew and loved her. Her artistic talents were displayed at the Georgia Capitol and the Hunter Museum of Art and led her to intern at the Corcoran Museum of Art, in Washington, DC. She pursued the love of art at the university of Alabama and Georgia state.

Her athletic abilities included swimming diving track and gymnastics. She loved the Lord, her family and her friends. Heaven received a fun, loving and beautiful spirit!

Susan is survived by her loving mother, Mrs. Mary Lucinda Rogers (formerly Hardin) Strain (Lester). She is also survived by her brothers, William 'Bill' (Lee) Hardin and David Rogers (Shawna) Hardin; her sister, Amy Hardin (Bobby) Leonardi; and her uncle, James 'Jim' Herbert (Karen) Rogers.

Susan is further survived by her nieces and nephews: Lilly, Miles, and Davis Hardin, all of Signal Mountain, Tennessee; Emme, Valerie, and Brooks Hardin, all of Dalton, Georgia; and Addy, Avery, and Reese Leonardi, all of Lexington, South Carolina. Susan is also survived by a number of her loving cousins.

Susan's family and extended family will conduct a graveside service on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM. They will lay her to rest next to her father in West Hill Cemetery.
