She was predeceased by: her parents, Newton Strawn and Genevieve Strawn; her children, John and Maureen Susan; her husband John Ferdinand Smith of Peter's Church; and her sisters, Eloise and Yvonne (Bunny).

She is survived by: her son Jim Smith (Carolyn) of Glenwood; her granddaughters, Lisa, Becky, Jenny and Katie; her daughter Judy Lauritsen (Boyd) of Omaha; her grandchildren, Carrie, Erik and Michele Smith of Omaha; her great grandchild Danielle; her grandson Gary Smith (Pam) of Omaha; her great grandchildren, John, Sarah, Jim and Joe; and her grandchild Rissy Smith of Omaha.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 10th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the John A. Gentleman Mortuary (1010 N 72nd St, Omaha, NE 68114). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Name Catholic Church (2901 Fontenelle Blvd, Omaha, NE 68104).
