Mary Bebeau ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Peterson Chapel – Buffalo on Mar. 12, 2026.Mary Rose Bebeau was born in Buffalo, Minnesota on November 10, 1957 to Donald and Janet (Barthel) Berning. A lifelong resident of Albertville, Minnesota, Mary attended St. Albert's Catholic School before graduating from St. Michael-Albertville High School in 1976. In school, Mary was active in 4H Club, excelled as an athlete in volleyball, softball and basketball, and found her love of music, playing trumpet in the marching band and guitar for the Teen Choir at church. One night in 1978, Mary and her girlfriends were hanging out at the Corner Bar in St. Michael. She was playing pool with a stranger and after she beat him at pool, he asked her out. Brian and Mary have been together ever since. On October 4, 1980, Mary and Brian Bebeau were joined in holy matrimony at St. Albert's Church in Albertville. She still recalls that day as the happiest of her life. Both Mary and Brian were working parents while raising their four children. Mary worked at Tenant Company after graduating high school. When the kids were born, she became a Bartender at the Monte Club in Monticello, MN before working her way up to a role as a Credit Analyst for J & B Wholesale Distributors in St. Michael. She stayed with JB Group for over 25 years before retiring in May, 2024.Serving her community was also important to Mary. Over the years, she volunteered with St. Albert's Parish and Christian Mothers, the Girl Scouts, Albertville Lioness, and, for many years, she organized the city-wide garage sales for Albertville Friendly City Days.Known for her competitive spirit, compassionate heart, great sense of humor, and unforgettable laugh, connecting with Mary was effortless. She loved music – singing, dancing, playing guitar; fishing and golfing; gambling with family and friends; traveling throughout the US; sharing her famous banana bread and pumpkin bars; playing pool and foosball; flaunting her luck at dice and card games; and staying sharp with puzzles and diamond dots. She had a reputation for bringing people together and making them feel welcomed. Her family and friends found it easy to confide in Mary during tough times and party alongside her whenever the opportunity arose. Even while confronting cancer, Mary stayed hopeful, generous, and grateful for the good times.Mary passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at the age of 68.
