Mary Rhoda "Kaster" Motter

Mary Rhoda Motter, 77, of Oil City, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 13, 2026, at the Caring Place in Franklin. Born on December 25, 1948, in Oil City, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Dolly George Kaster.

A graduate of Oil City High School and Clarion University, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science, Mary spent many years as a librarian at Christian Life Academy. She also drove a school bus during the 1980s. Books held a special place in her life; she was an avid reader and collector who found great joy in them. Above all, she cherished her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Andrew Motter of Oil City and Daniel Motter and his wife Annette of Nova Scotia, and by her two grandchildren, Wyatt and Grace. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Elmer and Larry Kaster.
