Mary was a lifelong resident of Shreveport and a strong woman of faith. She had been a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church since 1963. Throughout her many years there, she taught four year old Sunday School, chaperoned church groups and choir tours alongside her best friend, Bea, and together they shared a meaningful nursing home ministry. She later served as Director of the Senior Adult Sunday School and was always willing to step in wherever she was needed at Calvary.
Mary loved cooking and opening her home to family and friends for gatherings filled with warmth and laughter. Some of her greatest joys were watching her great grandchildren play in her backyard and tending to her yard with care. She was deeply loved by all who knew her — a mother to many, in spirit and in heart.
