Mary M. Grubisic

Mary M. Grubisic, age 64, of Ashland, Wisconsin, passed away on February 26, 2026 at her home. Born on September 4, 1961 in Bessemer Township, Michigan, she was the daughter of Dominic and Emma (Vaillancourt) Pinardi. On October 10, 1982, she married Christopher Grubisic at Holy Family Church in Ashland.

Mary will be remembered for her caring heart and generous spirit. A devoted member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Community, she volunteered countless hours as a Eucharistic Minister to the homebound and created activities and crafts for the school children. She was a tireless worker who readily extended a helping hand at any event or fundraiser. A familiar and welcoming presence at OLL Bingo on Tuesday evenings, she provided homemade desserts, donated prizes for the monthly raffle, and crocheted beautiful baby blankets, which she joyfully gave to anyone in need.

A natural caregiver, Mary treasured her years as a stay-at-home mom while her children were young. She later dedicated twenty years as an assistant at Lake Superior Elementary School, then became a Hallmark card distributor for five years before beginning a new position at Forward Horizons. Drawing on her CNA training, she connected easily with others and enjoyed friendly conversation with everyone she met. Her warm smile and joyful giggle were contagious and could light up any room. Mary had a passion for planning parties and decorating, delighting in wearing holiday-themed outfits and making every celebration special with her creativity and flair for fun. She loved watching classic films and mysteries and listening to Elvis Presley.

Mary lived her life to the fullest, creating countless cherished memories. She found great joy in giving to others and making people happy, but her greatest pride and happiness were her children and grandchildren as she watched them grow and achieve their own goals and dreams. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Christopher Grubisic; her children, Samantha Huite (Shiloh) of Peoria, Illinois, Sarah Grubisic of Ashland, and Cody Grubisic of Ashland; grandchildren Inara and Gideon Huite and twin grandsons on the way; her sister, Teresa Swanson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, David Pinardi.
