Mary L. Solbrekken, age 90, of La Crosse, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, at the Benedictine Manor in La Crosse.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by her funeral service at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar. Interment will be at West Lake Johanna cemetery near Brooten. www.petersonbrothers.com

Mary was born on January 23, 1936, in La Crosse to Walter and Winifred (Weigel) Larson. She grew up in the La Crosse area and graduated with honors from Logan High School and then obtained a bachelor's degree with honors from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. After graduation she worked for a short period of time as a sales associate at Dayton's in St. Paul, Minnesota.

On April 4, 1964, she married Dale Solbrekken. Together they raised two children and enjoyed a life filled with fishing, gardening, and family traditions. Mary was a dedicated homemaker who always had something cooking on the stove or baking in the oven and made every holiday memorable for her loved ones.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale; an infant sister-in-law; and two brothers-in-law, Gerald Solbreken and David Solbreken.

Mary is survived by her children: Karon (and Tom) Mooney and Gary (and Ann) Solbrekken; brothers- and sisters-in-law: Loren (and Donna) Solbreken and JoAnn (and Doug) Pettit: a grandson: and many loving nieces and nephews.
