Mary Louise Hite

Mary Louise Hite, 87, of Muddy Creek Township, passed away at Grove City Hospital on Sunday, March 15, 2026.

Born in Elkins, West Virginia on August 3, 1938, Mary Lou was the daughter of the late Marvin and Madeline Haun Daniels. She married Donald William “Bill” Hite on March 3, 1956, and they shared nearly six decades together until his passing on June 7, 2015. Mary Lou worked for several Giant Eagle stores as the friendly “sample lady,” where she took genuine pleasure in meeting people and sharing conversation. A longtime member of North Hills Church of Christ, she found quiet joy in playing Scrabble, reading, working puzzles, and crocheting afghans and scrubbies for her family and friends. In her final months she delighted in the companionship of her new puppy, Misty.

She is survived by her four children, M. Marie and Steve Corzine of Jackson, Missouri, Donald W. and Karen Hite, Jr. of Nashville, Tennessee, Gary P. and Sherrie Hite of Conneaut, Pennsylvania, and Melissa L. Caughey of Muddy Creek Township; her sister, Linda Weight of Oregon; ten grandchildren; and twenty great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Mary Lou was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Daniels and James Daniels.
