Mary Lou Prescott

Mary Lou Prescott of Mount Holly passed away on March 9, 2026, at her home. She was 83.

Born and raised in Mount Holly, Mary Lou graduated from Rancocas Valley Regional High School and Glassboro State. She taught first grade at the Folwell School for six years and later served as a substitute and homeschool teacher in Mount Holly for six to eight years. Above all, she was a devoted wife and mother whose love for her family defined her life.

She is survived by her husband, Carlton Morris Prescott, and their son, Carlton Christopher Prescott. She is also survived by her sister, Susan Smith Breedlove of Georgia, her nieces Kim Breedlove Bryant and Kerry Breedlove Fowler, and numerous great-nieces.

Mary Lou will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her dedication to teaching, and the quiet strength she brought to every role she filled.
