Mary Lafontaine

Mary (Avilla) Lafontaine, 99, formerly of Fall River, passed away March 16, 2026. She was employed by Carousel Curtain and Lamport. After her retirement, Mary enjoyed volunteering at the voting polls at Belisle School. Mary was a former member of the Sakonnet Seniors Club, Blessed Sacrament Church, its Woman's Guild and Holy Ghost Church. She received the Marian Medal.She was the wife of the late Francis N. Lafontaine, the daughter of the late Antone and Rosa (Borges) Avilla, and was predeceased by her 11 siblings.Mary leaves a daughter, Dianne Wheeler (husband James) of Clifton, Colorado;granddaughter, Susan Relaford (husband Scott) and their children Wyatt, Keri and Dylan of Hays, Kansas; many nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held Sunday, March 22 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Auclair Funeral Home, 690 South Main St. Fall River.Her funeral will be held Monday, March 23, at 9:00 AM from the funeral home, with a Funeral Mass in Holy Ghost Church, Judson St. Tiverton, at 10:00 A.MEntombment, Notre Dame Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to StJude.org. or Marion Manor.Online condolences at AuclairFuneralHome.com.
