Mary Kniha Martinez

Mary Kniha Martinez, 90, of Hellertown, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Holy Family Senior Living in Bethlehem. Born in Bethlehem on April 16, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Michael J. and Anna F. (Topechek) Kniha. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael Martinez, with whom she shared 47 years of marriage.

Mary spent much of her working life in food service, serving as manager at Stabler Arena in Bethlehem for 35 years until her retirement. She was known for her strong work ethic, friendly personality, and the many lasting relationships she formed during her years there. A faithful member of the Church of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus in Hellertown, she also gave generously of her time as a volunteer at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem and at St. Theresa’s School.

Above all, Mary found her greatest joy in the company of her family. She cherished playing bingo, dining out with loved ones, and making regular trips to Ocean City, New Jersey, a place that brought her lasting happiness and peace.

She is survived by her daughter, Michele A. Linsky and her husband Donald P. of Lower Saucon Township; her son, Matthew J. Martinez and his companion Jill A. Tammero of Bethlehem; her brother, James J. Kniha of Hellertown; and four grandchildren, Dana, Marisa, Morgan, and Tyler.
