Mary Kathleen "Kay" Braun
April 10, 1943— March 4, 2026
St. Petersburg, FL
With faith in God’s promise of eternal life, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Mary Kay Streets Braun. Despite years of serious health challenges, Mary Kay loved life and remained deeply devoted to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Mary Kay was born on April 10, 1943, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She grew up and attended school in Pinellas Park and the Seminole/Largo areas of Florida. She later graduated from Florida State University and remained a lifelong and passionate supporter of the Florida State Seminoles.
Mary Kay worked for many years in the insurance industry, where she cared for her clients with dedication and compassion. She was known for her warm spirit, quick humor, and deep love for others.
She enjoyed watching football, dancing, sharing jokes, and spending time with family. She faithfully attended her grandchildren’s sporting events and activities and took great pride in each of them. For many years she was rarely seen without her high heels.
Mary Kay also had a special gift for encouragement. She loved purchasing cards, writing heartfelt messages, and mailing them to those she loved. She regularly called family and friends simply to check in and remind them they were loved.
Even after becoming disabled, Mary Kay never complained. She continued to focus on the positive, encouraging others and sharing her faith. She truly lived as a servant of the Lord and found purpose in lifting up those around her.
Mary Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Ben and Louise Streets; her brother, David Streets; her grandparents; and her Aunt Eva Streets.
She is survived by her daughters, Tammy Scott (David), Robin Mills, and Kimberly Santos (Luis); her brothers, Ben (Joseph) and Dennis (Dawn); nephews, Clark (Kristina), and Matt; and her beloved grandchildren, Alyssa, Ian (Kristin), Erika, Isabel, Luis, Sofia, Christina, and Brandon, along with her cherished great-grandchildren, Bryce, Weston, Hallie, Hudson, and Braxton.
Viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., followed by a service at 5:00 p.m. at Heath Funeral Chapel.
A graveside burial service will take place on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Memory Gardens in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Mary Kay leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and encouragement. While she will be deeply missed, we rejoice in the promise that she is now healed and at peace in the presence of her Savior.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
