Mary Lowe ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Crawford / Ray Funeral Home on Mar. 8, 2026.Mary June Riddle Lowe, our beloved mother and grandmother, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. She was the cherished daughter of the late Ralph and Inez Cabe Riddle and the devoted wife of her late husband, Kenneth Lowe. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Haney, and her brother, T.L. Riddle.Mary June was a proud member of the Bethel High School Class of 1953. While there, she was voted both May Queen and Homecoming Queen, something her family always loved remembering because it fit her perfectly. She carried that same grace, kindness, and positive outlook throughout her life. During those years, she also formed a special "gang" of lifelong friends whose friendships remained dear to her heart. In 1955, she married her husband, Ken, and together they built a life centered on faith and family. Their four children were the heart of their home, and she loved them more than words could ever express. She was the perfect example of all a mother should be, filling their home with love and laughter. Mary June was a lifelong and faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church, where she worshipped and served the Lord. Her greatest joy was always her family. She loved gathering together, listening to music, watching UNC basketball games, answering trivia questions, and reading or writing the sweetest little poems and sayings for the people she loved. She always had a way of making each of us feel like we were the most special person in the world.Mary June had a special gift for Swedish weaving, creating beautiful blankets and throws for her children, grandchildren, and every new baby welcomed into the family. Each piece was made with care and became a treasured reminder of her love. Her weekly weaving class, which met every Tuesday, also brought her some of her most treasured friendships and many happy hours spent creating and sharing life together. To her family, she was known by many cherished names- Mother, Grandmother, Mamer, Greenpuff, and Gaga-and she was the very best of them all.Though our hearts feel lost without her, we are thankful for the promise of heaven. We are grateful for the love she gave us and the memories that will remain with us forever. One day, we know we will see her again.Mary June is survived by her son, Tim Lowe (Terry); daughters, Karen Young (Cecil), Lorraine Green (Bob), and Shawn Parris ( Stephen); eight grandchildren, Jennifer Cody (Chip), Dara Sanders (Alvin), Kendra Plemmons (Stephen), Lindsey Brooks (Nate), Chandler Sharpe (Dakota), Logan Green, Cassie King (Dalton), and Cabe Green; and twelve great-grandchildren, Lucas, Ella, and Jade Cody; Cora, Addison, and Trey Sanders; Krew and Ketch Plemmons; Zane Brooks; Kenzlo June and Dax King, arriving in May; and Finn Sharpe.A graveside funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Bethel Community Cemetery.
