Mary Jo Helm Wright

Mary Jo Helm Wright, 93, of Shelbyville, Kentucky, passed away on March 4, 2026.

A longtime member of Shelbyville First Christian Church, Mary Jo spent many years as a salesclerk in local jewelry stores, including Mark J. Scearce, Lazarus, and Macy’s, where she earned recognition for her exceptional sales ability. She also worked in the gift shop at Lawson’s department store in Shelbyville. She found great joy in shopping for antiques and collecting Aladdin lamps alongside her son, James Ray.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James T. Wright, her son, James Ray Wright, and her sister, Edith Mae Morrow.

She leaves behind a family who will cherish the memories of her warmth, her love of beautiful things, and the quiet grace she brought to every part of her life.
