Mary Dudley ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Allen Funeral Home and Crematory on Mar. 13, 2026.Mary Jo Dudley, 90, of Bloomington, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026.She was born on December 3, 1935, to Guy and Kathryn (Forney) Mitchell. She married William "Bill" Dudley on October 10, 1953, in Bloomington, and they shared seventy years of marriage together before Bill passed away on July 24, 2024.Mary Jo graduated from Smithville High School in 1953. She spent twenty years as an Air Force wife, traveling wherever her husband was assigned. She was a proud homemaker and loved her family. She also worked as a custodian for IU for ten years. Mary Jo was a member of the Red Hat Society, the Lion's Club, and Harrodsburg Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, flowers, and watching hummingbirds. She and her husband loved traveling all over the place to attend different Bluegrass festivals.Mary Jo is survived by her children, Sheila Goodman of Bloomfield, Greg Dudley of Springville, and Bryan (Colleen) Dudley of Murfreesboro, TN; brother, Terry (Pam) Mitchell; grandchildren, Maria (Terrill) Vaughn, Danielle (Josh) Jones, and Rachel (Jeff) McCutcheon; ten great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandsons, Tim Goodman and Jeffrey Dudley; brothers, John and Jim Mitchell; and son in-law, Lee Goodman.A funeral service for Mary Jo will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Allen Funeral Home in Bloomington. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 16, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
