Mary Jean West, 75, of Greensburg, Kansas, died March 10, 2026, at her home. Born February 21, 1951, in Fowler, Kansas, she was the daughter of Albert Cinclair “Ace” and Ruth Lorraine (Nichols) Edmonds. She lived in Fowler, Mullinville, Germany, Goddard, and Greensburg. A graduate of Mullinville High School in 1969, she attended Airline Training School in Denver, Colorado, and worked as an airline receptionist before joining Telemax in Omaha, Nebraska, where she booked trips for vacationers. She later returned to Kansas and devoted herself to her family as a homemaker.
On February 26, 1972, Mary Jean married Kenneth West in the Mullinville Methodist Church. He survives her, along with their son Jason West and his wife Susan of Greensburg, their daughter Malinda Kindall of Oberlin, Kansas, her brother Randy Edmonds and his wife Deb of Winfield, Kansas, her sister Linda Brehm of Pratt, Kansas, seven grandchildren—Tierra West, Bo West, Brett West, Coleman A. West, Bailey Duvall and her husband Shasta, Kylee Hammond and her husband Ryan, and Madison Brown—seven great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Mary Jean was preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law Kyle Kindall, and a brother-in-law Gary Brehm. She cherished her grandchildren and found joy in sewing, cross stitch, and quilting.
