She was born September 9, 1943, in Buffalo, New York, to Hiram Glenn and Mary (Frew) Shields.She was a graduate of Philipsburg State General Hospital School of Nursing and received her RN. She married John Bernard Waclo on August 14, 1965. The two were lifelong companions and had two children.Mary Jane's nursing career began at Magee-Women's Hospital, and continued to Greater Pittsburgh Rehabilitation Center and HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital. Her colleagues were not just coworkers, they were treasured friends. Mary Jane enjoyed playing cards and cherished her card club friends, sharing their lives together for decades.Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Hiram Glenn Shields and Mary Shields, and her brother Glenn Shields and her son-in-law Glenn Hauliska, Jr.Mary Jane is survived by her husband John Waclo and their children John (Natalie) Waclo and Lisa Hauliska; her granddaughters Hannah (Dakota) Stevey and Bethany Hauliska; and her great grandson Tate William Stevey; along with her siblings, Steve Shields and David Shields.Mary Jane will be remembered for her strong faith, for her love of her family, her quick wit, kind heart, and her love for the Pittsburgh Steelers. She loved and embraced her roles as mother, grandmother and great grandmother.A gathering will be held Friday, March 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., at the Murrysville Alliance Church, 4130 Old William Penn Highway, Murrysville, Pennsylvania, 15668; memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Susan G.
