Mary Jane Stanfield

Mary Jane Stanfield, 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2026. Born in Elmont, New York, she moved to Screven, Georgia, where she lived for more than 55 years. She earned an associate degree in General Business from Waycross College and went on to serve for many years as a bookkeeper at Lakeview Retirement Center in Baxley.

Mary Jane was remembered for her kindness and her quiet willingness to help others. She cherished the years spent with her husband and extended family, and found simple joy in gardening, baking, and going to the movies. Her beloved husband of 62 years, Dwight Stanfield, preceded her in death, as did her parents, Edward and Ethel Washburn.

She is survived by her son, Gregory Stanfield, her daughter-in-law, Kerry Stanfield, and her granddaughter, Caroline Stanfield, all of Greenville, South Carolina.
