Mary Muchicka ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Beinhauer-Connell Funeral Services on Mar. 8, 2026.Mary Jane Muchicka, age 88, formerly of Bethel Park, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026.Mary Jane was born to the late George and Elizabeth (Shope) Major on August 2, 1937, in Brownsville, PA.Mary Jane retired after a long and dedicated career at Lois Johnson Daycare Center, where she touched the lives of many children and families through her care, patience, and kindness. She found great joy in life's simple pleasures. Mary Jane loved cross-stitching, tending to her garden, and planting beautiful flowers that brightened both her home and the lives of those around her. Her warmth and generosity were evident in everything she did.Mary Jane will be remembered for her selfless spirit and her deep commitment to helping others. She generously volunteered much of her time to her parish family and was always willing to give back to charitable causes close to her heart.Above all, Mary Jane was a devoted mother and grandmother. Being a grandmother was her greatest pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren. She was the heart of her family, lovingly hosting holidays and gatherings that brought everyone together. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and lasting memories. Her legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family and community will live on in the many lives she touched.Mary Jane is predeceased by her beloved husband, Michael Muchicka; her dear children Steven and Mary; and her two angel great-grandchildren. She is survived by her children, Beth (Scott) Comport, Lori (Cliff) Bailey, and Ellen (Johnny Reitmeyer) McMinn; her grandchildren, Anthony, Michael, Alexis, Julia, Morgan, Ethan, and Lilianna; and her sister Ilene (late Richard) Merrick.Family and friends welcome Tuesday, March 10, from 10am-11:30am at 5120 W Library Ave., Bethel Park, PA 15102. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, immediately following visitation. Interment will take place at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made in her name to the American Cancer Society (https://www.cancer.org/) or a charity of your choice.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
